Green Grounds is selling cookies, flowers, and painted rocks in Clark this Wednesday. It’ll be a gneiss sale, drop by!
Update! Update! Rain is in the forecast for tomorrow, so we’re moving indoors. Find Campbell hall here: http://www.arch.virginia.edu/files/resources/UVa_Arch_Map_Parking_2.pdf AND directions to Campbell 135: If you’re coming from the parking lot by Campbell Hall (on the McCormick Rd side of Campbell), walk down the stairs towards the left side of the building (behind the bike racks) to enter the building. When you enter, you’ll be facing restrooms. Take a right, then turn into the hallway immediately to the left, walk down that hallway that winds to the left to a large open room (with several cushioned chairs on carpet to the right, where you can see the 2nd floor above). Keep going straight into a hallway at the far side of the room. This hallway turns right, and room 135 will be on your right.
The Green Initiative Funding Tomorrow (GIFT) Grant Committee recently awarded $30,000 worth of grant money to fund sustainable projects on Grounds. The GIFT Committee will be hosting the 3rd Annual GIFT Project Showcase on April 22nd as part of the UVa Earth Week Expo. The showcase will be from noon to 1 pm in the Newcomb Lounge. Our 2013-2014 grant recipients will be sharing about their efforts, accomplishments, and future goals. This year’s grant recipients include Community Garden Composting, Bike Lights Distribution, Zero Waste Athletics, Retrofit Drinking Fountains, Darden’s Refreshing First Coffee, Newcomb Composting, the Hereford Rain Garden, and Redefining Transporting. Stop by to talk with our grantees, enjoy a complimentary luncheon in the room next door, and catch up on some of the latest sustainability efforts at UVa.
